Gli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023, la cerimonia che premia le serie tv e i film preferiti dal pubblico, è stata stravolta dallo sciopero indetto dalla Writers Guild of America. La trentunesima edizione è andata in onda sotto forma di uno speciale pre-registrato, dopo che la presentatrice Drew Barrymore e altri attori che avrebbero dovuto partecipare hanno dato forfait. Diverse star dello spettacolo hanno fatto un passo indietro per sostenere gli sceneggiatori, che in queste settimane stanno protestando contro gli Studios per ottenere migliori condizioni lavorative. Nella cerimonia abbiamo visto gli attori ringraziare per i premi, che i fan hanno deciso di assegnargli, oltre a una serie di divertenti gag nelle quali Drew Barrymore ha vestito i panni dei personaggi più iconici di quest’anno.
Anche se la cerimonia di premiazione non è stata memorabile, come sperato, gli spettatori saranno stati felici di aver visto i loro attori e show preferiti trionfare agli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023. Tra le serie tv più premiate quest’anno troviamo naturalmente la quarta stagione di Stranger Things e The Last of Us (ma anche Jenna Ortega ha ottenuto il giusto riconoscimento). Sul versante cinematografico è Scream VI il film dell’anno a dimostrazione che il franchise horror è più vivo che mai. Infine anche Jennifer Coolidge, l’attrice rivelazione della serie tv della HBO The White Lotus, ha portato a casa due premi.
